Someone left a message for you.

You have been told that someone who died left you a message with Time Machine Vault (TMV), and you are not sure whether to believe it. This page is written for you.

“This looks like a scam”

It has the shape of one: an unexpected email, a dead relative, a link. Here is what is true of every genuine message from us:

  • We will never ask you for money. There is nothing to pay, ever. If something claiming to be from us asks for a payment, it is not from us.
  • We will never ask for bank details, identity documents, or a password. Reading a message does not need any of them.
  • There is no deadline. A message left for you stays yours whether you read it today or in a year.

Urgency and payment are the two things a fraud needs. Neither exists here.

What actually happened

Someone wrote you a message and asked us to hold it until after they died. They named you by your email address. They may have written it years ago. We do not open what people write, and we could not tell you it existed while they were alive.

What happens now

It is already yours

If we have written to you, the message has been released. There is nothing to claim.

We will write again

Weekly for a month, then monthly for a year. One email at a moment like this is easily missed, and the person who wrote it cannot resend it.

Then we stop

We stop the moment you open it, and after a year either way.
